Teach them to your children and to their children after them.”</div><div></div></div><div>This jumped out at me!!! Last year, and he excepted a new position as the dean of students at a school and hour north of us. We decided to stay where we were, and not move until we knew he really loved the job. After a year of him traveling two hours a day, we realized that that was no longer the best thing for a family. Truth be told, I think I knew we were supposed to move A year ago, however I did not want to leave our amazing church family, the kids school, and are fantastic neighborhood with many conveniences! As the year progressed, I felt more and more the consequences of not stepping out in faith and following the Lord.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQ4PgUt7NuBfRje7JCJ4nAz4lIm3u7HBxy0H8cDiveczMyL8jEx_OiBNyFAIgXX473-3TtmPsBXHggFhpkiYNqP766nTsOs4wHH8ulVOmezXBxEYb-gTnjN7Ys-srKGSMxvlgFJvA3WJEV/s640/blogger-image--948971617.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQ4PgUt7NuBfRje7JCJ4nAz4lIm3u7HBxy0H8cDiveczMyL8jEx_OiBNyFAIgXX473-3TtmPsBXHggFhpkiYNqP766nTsOs4wHH8ulVOmezXBxEYb-gTnjN7Ys-srKGSMxvlgFJvA3WJEV/s640/blogger-image--948971617.jpg"></a></div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Once we decided to move closer to his job, the Lord opened many doors for us. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of all of my Documented Faith products, so in the mean time, I ordered a roll of washi from Amazon! I dove into another page of the Created to Create devo from Illustrated Faith this week, and got my washi just in time!!! </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgq5v1VDPoNMiEUI6fW1_SAEK3N6Z6vIZJcVNJUHLIrWIsjLz90PecwElYhInMkfVBIZwR_RdjubjTIBSd85p2sRf8aUbQazG-HpgioOu0TBPxJPz9UZpAVTYCVtfMhKQII2jXRKkEL_tG/s640/blogger-image--727591137.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgq5v1VDPoNMiEUI6fW1_SAEK3N6Z6vIZJcVNJUHLIrWIsjLz90PecwElYhInMkfVBIZwR_RdjubjTIBSd85p2sRf8aUbQazG-HpgioOu0TBPxJPz9UZpAVTYCVtfMhKQII2jXRKkEL_tG/s640/blogger-image--727591137.jpg"></a></div>This page talked about not waiting for products, classes, your talents to improve...any excuse you have to keep from documenting what the Lord is doing in your life...and diving right in! Ha! How perfect is that?!?! So, I squirted, painted and rubbed my paint all over this page, used the new product that I DID have, and had a great time! </div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVeHSY093bciqkzivueMXrQ5Aadm5o8RiNCAHC-tCZLIXfbNUERfPOTDkh5_GS4wDO-mgSYu_xX5xdYn-ORUSdXZEAOO0pPeWQizR2y84Uj_C18eG8Y0QWOgshvXm3Zg0cODjsyihEDqCp/s640/blogger-image--1393118342.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><font color="#000000"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVeHSY093bciqkzivueMXrQ5Aadm5o8RiNCAHC-tCZLIXfbNUERfPOTDkh5_GS4wDO-mgSYu_xX5xdYn-ORUSdXZEAOO0pPeWQizR2y84Uj_C18eG8Y0QWOgshvXm3Zg0cODjsyihEDqCp/s640/blogger-image--1393118342.jpg"></font></a></div><div>The new swirl and dashed washi added just the pop of contrast that my page needed. It's been a while since I've posted on the blog, but I've got some big news to share with all of you!<br><br>A few weeks ago, I came across this little post from Stephanie Ackerman! I have always loved sharing my faith and sharing my art with others, so after some prayer I decided to apply for the documented faith design team. Their products are awesome, and they are creating such an amazing community with those who are also documenting their faith!</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9E91dafdQvfUQ4yelYINymLTlzf8FSi9lt710s3pzQuxrUdpUj5Zr3QOYr1A4eNtjLSSaiolrDd4RMcouXmXIuvO8JBi2qWW70YIjOsKG7AehnypoyRwYwrKUd4SiSE1WRJu9gEGHmgdo/s640/blogger-image-1437815251.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9E91dafdQvfUQ4yelYINymLTlzf8FSi9lt710s3pzQuxrUdpUj5Zr3QOYr1A4eNtjLSSaiolrDd4RMcouXmXIuvO8JBi2qWW70YIjOsKG7AehnypoyRwYwrKUd4SiSE1WRJu9gEGHmgdo/s640/blogger-image-1437815251.jpg"></a></div>I just found out that I am on their Ambassador Design Team! I have already gotten to know a few of the other creative ladies on this team, and I can't wait to see how God works in all of us and uses our artwork and these products to bring him glory!</div><div><br></div><div>So, what are these products I keep talking about?! Well, I will be doing a review once I receive all of my new swag, but here are a few of my favorites!</div><div><br></div><div> Washi! John 16:33<div>I was riding along in the car yesterday while the kids were at school, and thankfully remembered that I was a grown up and did not have to be listening to Strawberry Shoetcake! I switched over to KLove and heard Building 429's<i> I'm Not Home Yet</i>. I was singing along, rock'n to my jam when the line "<i>When the earth shakes I want to be found in you" </i></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOoyqf_qKOUj3snodIPci7tA2rIRT6teRvhNK3vOQcm7J_Z5jeFKNnSbHdzv8KvKMpn1uAZ1mKFlxs96-QBSZGjBdK7dr3kE7OMYE30tiOBE1MafIXD5XioAF8p1275wj3HBP7sUisaSLl/s640/blogger-image-2110226331.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOoyqf_qKOUj3snodIPci7tA2rIRT6teRvhNK3vOQcm7J_Z5jeFKNnSbHdzv8KvKMpn1uAZ1mKFlxs96-QBSZGjBdK7dr3kE7OMYE30tiOBE1MafIXD5XioAF8p1275wj3HBP7sUisaSLl/s640/blogger-image-2110226331.jpg"></a></div>This phrase jumped out at me! I've heard this song before, but the Lord used it this time to remind me of his power!!! I was recently reading in John 16 where Jesus was telling his disciples that he was about to leave them. The disciples were confused and a little scared at what Jesus had said was going to happen, so at the end, he wrapped it up with</div><div><i> <span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">““I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.””</span></i></div><div>John 16:33 NIV</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUJaLccufhFfKcrqIYmmZLjIU4c3pES2UseuSFyIut1qYR1BW_13MRxZdpEQznJZFEvSAwkUAWG6_2C-ptZ0tyFWRxGs8iv4Zxja3X46-0OntEe6oQbgsMZQz3ZGMPO3OOse9gm_Eu1Fc0/s640/blogger-image--559964789.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUJaLccufhFfKcrqIYmmZLjIU4c3pES2UseuSFyIut1qYR1BW_13MRxZdpEQznJZFEvSAwkUAWG6_2C-ptZ0tyFWRxGs8iv4Zxja3X46-0OntEe6oQbgsMZQz3ZGMPO3OOse9gm_Eu1Fc0/s640/blogger-image--559964789.jpg"></a></div>Take Heart!!! HE has overcome the world!!! If there was ever someone to cling to in times of upheaval, despair, or everyday "earth shaking," it would be the ONE who has overcome the world!!! ***insert war cries, cheers of jubilation and high fiving!!!***</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCLOqxTHOStu8PL4XnxAyfWJ454824-d8rOerBMEbNbiqcQ4oW0KrF0-Jut-3MDFwde6_dE9GDb13T5bkD8JjLEflcWEOd7hZBSeo5YyVWEa7wvqH1dG74Of6s0_RbG8TZoau9bkNPpod4/s640/blogger-image-560393525.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCLOqxTHOStu8PL4XnxAyfWJ454824-d8rOerBMEbNbiqcQ4oW0KrF0-Jut-3MDFwde6_dE9GDb13T5bkD8JjLEflcWEOd7hZBSeo5YyVWEa7wvqH1dG74Of6s0_RbG8TZoau9bkNPpod4/s640/blogger-image-560393525.jpg"></a></div>Now, to OWN IT!!! What an amazing truth!!! Those trials, uphill battles and daily struggles? Hand. Them. Over!!! Jesus knows they're hard! He went through worse! But he OVERCAME them so he could carry your stuff too!!! </div><div><br></div><div>Wow. Right?! Let that sink in! So, when your world shakes, run to Jesus. Hand him your stuff. Seriously! So many wonderful topics to dive into!!! So, when I hit the Beauty page of my Gratitude Journal from Illustrated Faith (yes, that was a November project!!!...lets just say that I'm really taking my time with being thankful 😂) chapter 3 vs. 3-4 spoke to my heart. </div><div><br></div><div><i>"It is <b>not</b> fancy hair, gold jewelry or find clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from <b>inside</b> to you – the beauty of a <b>gentle</b> and <b>quiet</b> <b>spirit</b>. That beauty will never disappear, and it is worth <b>very</b> much to God." </i></div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSkoMo9ARbmZVWxJRmvYdAk3nknaL2bsa0E45Bma4JSFEhwHqSmtkKfB3TLpC-95J_gfepbNfqN_yrIBcC2gq0Fde_E_meztJUESHMy7jCAvo3TTB_icczdN8J1cX3iSSmjNBg6qrP8wpf/s640/blogger-image-1246253710.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSkoMo9ARbmZVWxJRmvYdAk3nknaL2bsa0E45Bma4JSFEhwHqSmtkKfB3TLpC-95J_gfepbNfqN_yrIBcC2gq0Fde_E_meztJUESHMy7jCAvo3TTB_icczdN8J1cX3iSSmjNBg6qrP8wpf/s640/blogger-image-1246253710.jpg"></a></div>As we talked in small group, we discussed extensively what these things look like when we live them out. What does it mean to have a gentle and quiet spirit with our husbands? Should we not be wearing make up and pretty clothes? (Woot woot!!! Yoga pants and tshirts Capsul Wardrobe?! -just kidding!) How does our beauty come from within?</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6-WAb1C56orChZXk_nIPZhNcseYIoAMPQ6QCngKl5gFERS04X4R0sjCuX4sYnK3hVrW2k4F6k13GWHa6g9BAZdYGE79ogCf1qd-O62ftuxXNkM_2UDFlYUN6Q4TUULDpoZSSEj24ao1if/s640/blogger-image--367752955.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6-WAb1C56orChZXk_nIPZhNcseYIoAMPQ6QCngKl5gFERS04X4R0sjCuX4sYnK3hVrW2k4F6k13GWHa6g9BAZdYGE79ogCf1qd-O62ftuxXNkM_2UDFlYUN6Q4TUULDpoZSSEj24ao1if/s640/blogger-image--367752955.jpg"></a></div>My Illustrated Faith <i>Whatever is Lovely </i>collection helped me answer that last question beautifully!!! Philippians 4:8 says, </div><div><br></div><div><i>"Whatever is <b>true</b>, Whatever is <b>noble</b>, whatever is <b>right</b>, whatever is <b>pure</b>, whatever is <b>lovely</b>, whatever is <b>admirable</b> – if anything is <b>excellent</b> or <b>praiseworthy</b> of the – think about such things."</i></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRfKkOkK3g7Tf6vwKtE62j6QWVtxlNUatvgQx2qs78ME0SRmxwnNVCepSsUsUpNz-1jQid9105BI-DVDI6gLPSmJE58W_0j4tvWNhGL6PbloP53zyw1nQjfIMUwVghpeLzWI0YIGuvwAXw/s640/blogger-image--334219342.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRfKkOkK3g7Tf6vwKtE62j6QWVtxlNUatvgQx2qs78ME0SRmxwnNVCepSsUsUpNz-1jQid9105BI-DVDI6gLPSmJE58W_0j4tvWNhGL6PbloP53zyw1nQjfIMUwVghpeLzWI0YIGuvwAXw/s640/blogger-image--334219342.jpg"></a></div>You see, God is far less interested in if our outfit looks OK, or if our hair isn't doing just the right thing today, then he is about how her attitude is about those things! All he wants is us. All of us. And when we began to dwell on that fact, our beauty is going to shine from the inside out!</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicRdI6QXo5zBflLSIjva7D6ky6kex9Zw8zUVMOF4d8nP4toHcml_w1UZbnytXcYFa4FRHkrJKQynFpPiD5_zK-qOzCAVS7d9NmV8UAqCusOSyMkERq6Y6iGn11t2iy8nGg5Z2FU5yR1D82/s640/blogger-image--1050851279.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicRdI6QXo5zBflLSIjva7D6ky6kex9Zw8zUVMOF4d8nP4toHcml_w1UZbnytXcYFa4FRHkrJKQynFpPiD5_zK-qOzCAVS7d9NmV8UAqCusOSyMkERq6Y6iGn11t2iy8nGg5Z2FU5yR1D82/s640/blogger-image--1050851279.jpg"></a></div>Our inner beauty will <b>never</b> disappear, and it is worth <b>very</b> much to God!</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDukBQOgUhVVV6l7DXS2m2Cz8lrAO9d3EMHXffh23Uo6U6sMrywqiMlZBF8DHObDYFp_PfZ6rmaC4Ugavr34KG63CxKpfrHu0gEebJl3qJNLIxgFn5FG3kfVqwKuJp7r-cmYFML1ns45or/s640/blogger-image--2037916906.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDukBQOgUhVVV6l7DXS2m2Cz8lrAO9d3EMHXffh23Uo6U6sMrywqiMlZBF8DHObDYFp_PfZ6rmaC4Ugavr34KG63CxKpfrHu0gEebJl3qJNLIxgFn5FG3kfVqwKuJp7r-cmYFML1ns45or/s640/blogger-image--2037916906.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05497488527964175863noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-814604820272797386.post-45023063022904872672015-08-18T09:31:00.000-07:002015-08-19T13:57:14.611-07:00Donatello and the Jaguar<br>
I just spent the better half of my morning trying to calm a 5 year old who is clearly struggling with the most basic component of our human souls...and I'm pretty positive this won't be our last discussion of the subject ;)<br>
<br>
I sat and listened to my exhausted son sob over the fact that he would no longer be allowed to get a Lunchable because of the choices he had made earlier in the day. I watched as he admitted repeatedly that although the rules had been clearly set before him, he had chosen to ignore them, and the consequences, because "I just wanted that toy!!!"<br>
<br>
No matter how I spun the conversation, he kept returning to the fact that he just "wanted it!!!!" After reminding him that he had just received MANY toys a mere 3 days ago at his birthday party, he sobbed, "but I just want to have ALL the toys so I can have more toys than anyone in the galaxy!" I have no idea where he gets his dramatics from. I blame Big A. ;)<br>
<br>
Clearly I wasn't getting anywhere with my lengthy convo, so I resorted to visual aids. I must admit that I was pretty proud of my resourcefulness in choosing my characters, and feel that I truely captured my audience. Giant Donatello playing the part of our Heavenly Father?! Um, yeah, I nailed it.<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj04DwbCYPRjTsXj_UKpI9l_65D2ToV2NT-X-qLKQuHDPTtXkTbWtMuW6W53Uyc4iNIVQOieqn699Fg759WKG-On3Gp_AfcVtmWXet6DPe014K5yhyAZ2p-EqtLUQHFZ-0fa9qGzKuFZoY2/s640/blogger-image--1121724643.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj04DwbCYPRjTsXj_UKpI9l_65D2ToV2NT-X-qLKQuHDPTtXkTbWtMuW6W53Uyc4iNIVQOieqn699Fg759WKG-On3Gp_AfcVtmWXet6DPe014K5yhyAZ2p-EqtLUQHFZ-0fa9qGzKuFZoY2/s640/blogger-image--1121724643.jpg"></a></div><br>
T-man was played by a tiny jaguar. A very respectable animal, but significantly smaller than Donny. I showed him where God wanted us by having Donny hold the jag. Then I showed him how each complaint that he had thrown at me all morning moved him further away from the Lord, BUT God never changed. He just stayed the same. Never moved, never turned away. Just waited for he jaguar's return.<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-gU-yTmNsT7EqhxGnzEXvO5G1WamrVRWfC0yZBLhyphenhyphenJByYPP1VsmkflxIRg5m7YDsEuBGin43aXav5A6thW05mdNdha8szREmeXuSiQnZpq8MlUe-szeoNSFIhUosza1aBsfsaz3bZ7MvK/s640/blogger-image-1759013461.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-gU-yTmNsT7EqhxGnzEXvO5G1WamrVRWfC0yZBLhyphenhyphenJByYPP1VsmkflxIRg5m7YDsEuBGin43aXav5A6thW05mdNdha8szREmeXuSiQnZpq8MlUe-szeoNSFIhUosza1aBsfsaz3bZ7MvK/s640/blogger-image-1759013461.jpg"></a></div><br>
The jag, however looked like he was getting attacked by a bee- running back and forth, to and fro, trying to make the "right" choice. Thankfully, at this point, T-man new exactly what the jaguar needed to do to return to a close hug with Donny. He told me the good choices that he COULD HAVE Made that would have allowed him to be closer to God, which he admitted was where he wanted to be.<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEZWltvvysHWIsQy6EmfowYK6ZDq-gwEGGT4vrl3cOY9Ju73ZmSZrFi9h4cVEvkLjq6agFqK-wXezFnQxRiDz4p0rCGNpTriRdmgJWltv03hjWru7C64U5sTYvd4btcD6Z-d_VUIHa-Bxy/s640/blogger-image--46681481.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEZWltvvysHWIsQy6EmfowYK6ZDq-gwEGGT4vrl3cOY9Ju73ZmSZrFi9h4cVEvkLjq6agFqK-wXezFnQxRiDz4p0rCGNpTriRdmgJWltv03hjWru7C64U5sTYvd4btcD6Z-d_VUIHa-Bxy/s640/blogger-image--46681481.jpg"></a></div><br>
The knowledge was there, but let's face it. His little heart was struggling something fierce!!! As I summed up what I thought to be a home run in the "life lesson" department, I showed him Romans 7:15-25. Don't worry, I totally summed it up In kid version because SERIOUSLY, I have to read those verses about 20 times to get everything straight. Sometimes graphs are involved just to keep my thoughts straight!<br>
<br>
Bottom line: I make bad choices. It's my sinful nature. I don't always want to make bad choices, but I usually do. I try hard to be "good," but it's hard and I can't do it on my own. So, PRAISE JESUS that he fights that battle for me!!!<br>
<br>
Good stuff, huh?! I finished my epic presentation with a summery, at which point my son hit the harsh reality that he was REALLY NOT going to get a Lunchable...and began the fit again. :/<br>
<br>
...this must be how God feels with us.<br><br>*****<div>I also used this book as a great learning tool, which is where the quote on my bible page came from!</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGYp53aXNUJKzSNFCfjPd721gXVzaRZKpimmSS3vmF7HDn_EdQfWnGcqxOtFtZ7rgE3c3GDt7NDDLbrR6n2T5jeaD8Ul6qGIv5dhsDWJ7ifxbUr-wu6pyqXQJIeqM2d92AmHxuTiAkul5X/s640/blogger-image--204488298.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGYp53aXNUJKzSNFCfjPd721gXVzaRZKpimmSS3vmF7HDn_EdQfWnGcqxOtFtZ7rgE3c3GDt7NDDLbrR6n2T5jeaD8Ul6qGIv5dhsDWJ7ifxbUr-wu6pyqXQJIeqM2d92AmHxuTiAkul5X/s640/blogger-image--204488298.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMzpuCqshY2772ahuCfw5bC34kTsQhWrGbMcC-XCIF1JDzfioA8-cQ-1xWLXucgqnzzQlR5qbuHTWUtZN0Mht9Gf5eRz5iOpe98DTf4hnASOarbjq4tAsLM4HMyBd0B9IHfO9qc85zc5IZ/s640/blogger-image--1673282278.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMzpuCqshY2772ahuCfw5bC34kTsQhWrGbMcC-XCIF1JDzfioA8-cQ-1xWLXucgqnzzQlR5qbuHTWUtZN0Mht9Gf5eRz5iOpe98DTf4hnASOarbjq4tAsLM4HMyBd0B9IHfO9qc85zc5IZ/s640/blogger-image--1673282278.jpg"></a></div><br></div><br></div>Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05497488527964175863noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-814604820272797386.post-21840387392414730182015-08-17T13:51:00.001-07:002015-08-17T13:51:23.945-07:00He Won't Give Up on YOU!<div>
It's good to be back in this Bible!!! I have been working in my Notetaker's Bible for a bit, and was missing my bigger bible! Not to mention, I thought I had LOST it!!! 😩<br />
<br />
I was in complete panic mode when I went to work in it, and couldn't find it ANYWHERE!!! Thankfully, I had just left it at church after small group! Whew!<br />
<br />
Our church has been doing a series on "FindingYour Way Back to God," through studying the parable of The Prodical Son.<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgYkS_AJbLnCOZCgkUpuF-bqMynTdkaV7EbP-t8d_6G7wyQ93dRe9-cVXAhVPI0qXo0ZWc9TYkkdnt1pLhV5ToZkUE2B639JTrciPPsljBf_7Frp9WDraVCg6eSfou37K9Qh6yI1rsmg46/s640/blogger-image-1635233004.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgYkS_AJbLnCOZCgkUpuF-bqMynTdkaV7EbP-t8d_6G7wyQ93dRe9-cVXAhVPI0qXo0ZWc9TYkkdnt1pLhV5ToZkUE2B639JTrciPPsljBf_7Frp9WDraVCg6eSfou37K9Qh6yI1rsmg46/s640/blogger-image-1635233004.jpg" /></a></div>
For the longest time I really didn't like this story because I tended to relate to the "good" brother, and didnt think that that stupid brother who broke all the rules deserved a party AT ALL!!! (Anyone with me here?!). BUT, once I got more into life and realized that I, myself, didn't really make the best choices all the time, I saw this story completely differently! I had a NEED and a YEARNING for that grace that the Father (my Heavenly Father) so willingly threw at the "bad" son!!!<br />
<br />
My most favorite part of this whole parable is Luke 15:20, "But, while he was still a long way off..."<br />
<br />
Good grief, does that just sum me up!!! (Can I get an "Amen?!") I am still a LONG WAY OFF!!!<br />
<br />
I have recently been feeling inadequate in pretty much all areas of my life. Nothing I do seems "good enough." So, when I read God's words in Jeremiah 31:3, it just hugged my sad little heart!<br />
<br />
"I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. I will build you up again..."<br />
<br />
Well, Praise the Lord that He will Not give up on me!!! What a powerful truth!!!<br />
<br />
I hope that if you have found yourself not where you want to be, or should be with the Lord, that you will take heart!!! He is eagerly waiting for you, even if you are "a long way off!!!</div>

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">So, as I was working in my notetakers bible today, I realized that I have done all of my painting WITH MY FINGERS!!! Ha! No brush, no credit card scraping, just my fingers...and I love it!!!</span></div>

I love documenting the truths that the Lord has shown me through using the talents he has given me!!!</div><div><br></div><div>I've actually made videos (which if you follow my Facebook page, you've seen) of each of the pages shown here!!! I've been really excited to create, share and teach through this whole process! </div><div><br></div><div>This spread is to remind me of the VBS that Brittney and I decided to do for the sweet little preschools from our weekly Story Corner!!! Ironically, as we were "letting our lights shine," it was pouring all 3 days!!! 😂 but, these moms and kids were faithful, and The Lord "reigned" through it all! ( see what I did there 😉)</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBGlOBRw119-uv4t_a9JETfrCS40Y7O68hvibck6zHFXYTQZ2vc50_f8FwjQuxuD6GdUPHFIre-UH1xCY-fz9wnHk3q-TFJildK6IAayn4zcakBIbQyJzuaBh6PxtFNGfICjO8bOP9lPXX/s640/blogger-image-1286469430.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBGlOBRw119-uv4t_a9JETfrCS40Y7O68hvibck6zHFXYTQZ2vc50_f8FwjQuxuD6GdUPHFIre-UH1xCY-fz9wnHk3q-TFJildK6IAayn4zcakBIbQyJzuaBh6PxtFNGfICjO8bOP9lPXX/s640/blogger-image-1286469430.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>This flap page is one of my favorites!!! Not only T-man's life verse, but SO much to absorb!!! I heard some amazing teaching on this passage from a husband and wife team last year at Bible Study. I was so furiously writing everything down because it was just so good!!! Now I'm having to add tabs into my bible just to get all of that meat in there!!! This was one of the hardest years for me to come up with an idea of what to make, mostly because I have been sewing, and out of my normal growth. After much thought, I am very pleased with what I created this year! I look forward to bringing the kids to Brooklyn in the future, and letting them see what we made! Enjoy!</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3o5TjWX8O35buFZv4EqHkfh-ha9yBiskfUfzu0TI__ysagZbYKEG4Ar2i9KVAloeS7y9yVy67eRD1RqNjMcq0ivrhnWSgwRCDTWvDjCfhz8MHbaZT_3bDZ2rc1_NyBmXJDLAGduC6ANmw/s640/blogger-image-386927428.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; Here's a bit about my journey. I
must preface this by saying that I am almost always the free spirit, go
with the flow, "Oh, come on, just try it! It will be FUN!" girl. I am
usually working along side my mom who is hugely gifted in her artistic
and creative abilities, but is always needing the rules and the boxes to
keep everything in.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
With that
said, this was Hard for me to start. It's hard for me to create "on
command," and truthfully, I didn't know where to begin.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So,
I began with my favorite verse. And paint. :D I feel comfortable with
paint, and ever since the Lord brought me this verse about a month or so
ago, I feel like it is our family's verse! It's what I want all of our
hearts to be about, and this just sums it up! Anyways, more on that
later. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I wrote, I played with the lettering, and then I tried this:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK6BoR6WAEbgANJBzvygHDF82VKpuaBWFOdl-bHKH198q8GWr8Mps6m9dErevP-MMu9s_KjxfzRIYt70CsT3RNae3V53SvWAub6rJq-c8dHjPLx5okyXeH7sut7Gcl2h20QfnO8EhWAR_F/s640/blogger-image-44039954.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK6BoR6WAEbgANJBzvygHDF82VKpuaBWFOdl-bHKH198q8GWr8Mps6m9dErevP-MMu9s_KjxfzRIYt70CsT3RNae3V53SvWAub6rJq-c8dHjPLx5okyXeH7sut7Gcl2h20QfnO8EhWAR_F/s640/blogger-image-44039954.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
I had seen a few people on the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/675075232583189/" target="_blank">Facebook page</a>
do a house, and I thought, Hmmmmm, I can do that! So, I whipped out my
Crayola watercolors, and went to town! (* I placed something plastic
between the two pages because watercolors will bleed!)<br />
<br />
That picture is not complete, but I will be finishing up the details later!<br />
<br />
Ok, so I mentioned my Mom earlier. These are some of her first pages:<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Aren't
they AMAZING?! This is right up her alley! She so clearly and
beautifully illustrates the images that the Lord brings to mind through
the Holy Spirit, and effortlessly depicts them on her pages!<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
After listening to the sermon that Shanna played for us at the Illustrated Faith workshop on Colossians 3, I was really drawn to verse 12 that says, " Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."<br />
He also spoke about being Transformed into our new life that has the qualities, and The Lord spoke to me about how wonderful it is that he always makes things new!!!<br />
And, here is my page! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGw4J1_eQmBRX5VoOB61OrKoS5eHsPPG88iCqV-ZHnRFwe_53ek57SOQTh-KYSsg7VCxx6BmIEhRO8_xNVYM1QeJjXOmQ08kZbN2sHbgR4Vs1ILwiByJr75nxXzIjrVU2EmytmfYLAKjqK/s640/blogger-image-1936607011.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGw4J1_eQmBRX5VoOB61OrKoS5eHsPPG88iCqV-ZHnRFwe_53ek57SOQTh-KYSsg7VCxx6BmIEhRO8_xNVYM1QeJjXOmQ08kZbN2sHbgR4Vs1ILwiByJr75nxXzIjrVU2EmytmfYLAKjqK/s640/blogger-image-1936607011.jpg" /></a></div>
I felt a little bit more comfortable working with mixed media, but I am still trying to find my groove in this whole thing! I will keep pressing on, and hopefully make some videos of my process!</div>

Hi, friends! I had to share about the most fantastic workshop that Mom and I went to this weekend!!! We had the joy and privileged of meeting and learning from Shanna Noel about Bible Journaling! I had run across this concept about a month ago, and as I was beginning to love the whole idea, I saw that <a href="http://www.paletteandpaper.com/" target="_blank">Mare</a> had invited Shanna to come to Indy!!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Whhaaaaaaatttt?! I couldn't even believe it because I feel like the cool stuff never comes here!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So anyways, what is this bible journaling I speak of?! Oh, yes, of course. :D</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You can check out all of the details at <a href="http://www.illustratedfaith.com/" target="_blank">Illustrated Faith</a>, especially the <a href="http://www.illustratedfaith.com/start-here/questions/" target="_blank">Questions</a> page, but I will share the gist of it here with you :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br /></div>

Illustrated Faith is about using the creativity that God has given you (even if you think you don't have any!!!- Yes, even YOU can do it!) to document what he is doing in your life IN His word! By journaling, illustrating, or coloring next to or around the scripture you are not only allowing those truths to dwell on your heart, but leaving a legacy "to the next generation" of the amazing works that He is doing!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Yes, it's fun to use paints, pens, stickers and washi tape (oh, the washi tape!), but as in everything else, it is about GOD!!! It's a way to work through what the Holy Spirit is teaching you and remember the amazing things that God is doing for you and through you!!!</div>

At the conference, Shanna gave her testimony and shared with us about how she began journaling in her bible. Next, she had us listen to a 15 minute sermon and take notes. We were then given complete creative freedom to document what we had gotten out of the message!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgl8MJF4vE2E5viY-lAzt5B3viNzePPvY_tOfTt2lLDy3YW8x8aYykcQDcnhGErX5XIWwz_dy6T2rbtEA5-6B3LomuamvlrQPVcNYXPWVpY9lP7PlSV_tJnYcEtEY0WYodiLXZVFTM-ir7/s640/blogger-image--2097001273.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgl8MJF4vE2E5viY-lAzt5B3viNzePPvY_tOfTt2lLDy3YW8x8aYykcQDcnhGErX5XIWwz_dy6T2rbtEA5-6B3LomuamvlrQPVcNYXPWVpY9lP7PlSV_tJnYcEtEY0WYodiLXZVFTM-ir7/s640/blogger-image--2097001273.jpg" /></a></div>
We were able to try new materials, seek Shanna's knowledge and guidance, and get to know those around us! At the end, each of us shared our pages.<br />
You know what? I later realized that each person held their page up for about 7 seconds, and then spoke the rest of the time about what GOD had spoke to them and how GOD was working in their lives at the moment!<br />
<br />
How. Cool. Is. That?!!!!<br />
<br />
So, thank you, Shanna, for investing in us, for being obedient and faithful to the Lord's calling, and for being so super fun and fantastic as to give us all this amazingly special treat!!!<br />

Big A is out of town at a football conference this weekend, so the kids and I are enjoying the fresh snow that fell last night! After the 15 minute snow suit application for the littles and I, and then sledding and traipsing through the snow, we are pooped!!! ...but in a totally good way!!!<br />
<br />
We're enjoying our lunch and I was thinking about heading up to sew...and then I realized that blogging about sewing from my comfy chair sounds WAY more fun! ;)<br />
<br />
I really got into sewing this past year. Hobby Lobby kept putting their Simplicity patterns on sale for $.99, so obviously I had to buy ALL THE PATTERNS!!! Ha! At least that's how I felt at the time! Plus, I've been collecting gorgeous fabrics from my trip to Chicago, and Crimson Tate downtown, and of course, Hobby Lobby, so I put them all to good use!!! <br />
<br />
My niece, Story, had a Princess birthday party last June, and I used one of my new patterns to make Liv a princess dress!!! It is fashioned after the Tinker Bell fairy dresses, and I must say, I can't actually still believe that I made this!!! She looked absolutely beautiful fluttering around outside...plus it's all pink, which makes it even more awesome ;)<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This dress was from a Project Runway pattern for kids! So, of course, I worked furiously in the dining room at my sewing machine during nap time for daaaaaaaayyys, pretending that I was in a clutch "make it work" moment and only had one day to complete my task! ;) My friend, Hilary, gave me this gorgeous fabric because...she has a boy :/ So, I did her proud and made Liv this fancy dress!<br />

This summer while at Hancock Fabrics, I found these amazing graphic prints of bikes and sewing machines, so I whipped this little beauty up during a nap time so she could meander the park in style.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

Oh. This dress. Be still my heart! I stumbled on this fabric and about fell over!!! ... I probably get WAY too excited about things, which is also what the lady cutting my fabric must have thought as I stood there gushing over it!!!<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

I used <a href="http://www.craftinessisnotoptional.com/search/label/junebug%20dress" target="_blank">this tutorial </a>from Pinterest!!! As she is getting bigger, she can still fit into it, although this summer it will probably be a shirt!<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

After that, I decided to try something for myself!!! The pattern said "easy" on the front, so I figured I'd give it a whirl! Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised!!! I really like being able to say that I made my clothes! :D<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

I had found <a href="http://www.craftinessisnotoptional.com/2011/10/lovebird-tunic.html" target="_blank">this tutorial</a> on Pinterest, and this adorable polka dot fabric around the same time, and I LOVE this little tunic!!! <br />

She debuted it at Thanksgiving this year, and can you believe that she did not stand still even ONCE for me to get a great picture of her in it?!?! (I can! ;)<br />

I also dabbled in Kimonos this year!!! They are the perfect light layer to add pizazz to any plain outfit!!!<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

Once it got cold enough, I began making Kozy Kimonos out of fleece to keep us all nice and toasty...which they do!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I thought I'd throw this one in for fun :) Our small group had an Ugly Christmas Sweater party this year, so I channeled my inner Ann, and recreated a combo of outfits she made for us when we were little!! My sweater both sparkled and shined, and Andy, well, his snowman was very happy! LOL!!!<br />

Oh. Livie's 2nd Birthday Dress!!! This dress was made from fabrics that I got in Chicago, from a pack of fat quarters I got for Christmas, some from my friend, Hilary, and adorable little Babushkas on the apron! <br />

Since Liv had a Doll Party this year, I made each girl a small flannel Babushka softie to take home!!!<br />

Thank you, if you made it through this whole post! ha! Let me know if you have any tutorials that I should try! Aaaahhhhh! I've had my sketchbook for The Sketchbook Project since August, and I have just been so stumped on what to put in it this year!!! To be honest, I've actually spent a lot of time sewing these last few months, so I haven't been working on my other "art!"<br />
<br />
So, I finally decided the other day to do some collaborative pieces with the kids! We've done this before, and it is just so much fun!!! I let the kids draw, and then I fill in with watercolor and pen. They turn out beautifully, and I love that it is something that we created together!</div>

I've recently seen how much Livie enjoys coloring, and it makes me excited that she may enjoy my loves as well!!! ...However, she's sort of missing WHERE her art should be created!!! T-man never had a problem sticking to the "only draw on paper" rule, but Liv is really getting into the whole Body Art movement! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXiiZwk8wgCPjfWA16c-ccmI9e901xihmjUaN5dQ_K9CWY2ef-Rr5V9rwyX4G1TT6rwxYHKL_YD-j28s7npKnnEdnM-VxNlIrFUL8_FYk2f3Wgm-8IV9kfiJ0newtXqW_cAsnIFmx8Tk6b/s640/blogger-image-1550587946.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXiiZwk8wgCPjfWA16c-ccmI9e901xihmjUaN5dQ_K9CWY2ef-Rr5V9rwyX4G1TT6rwxYHKL_YD-j28s7npKnnEdnM-VxNlIrFUL8_FYk2f3Wgm-8IV9kfiJ0newtXqW_cAsnIFmx8Tk6b/s640/blogger-image-1550587946.jpg" /></a></div>
Over the past few years, I have had a great time collecting and making my own unique Christmas Decorations! My tree is decorated with the colors, beauty and whimsy of a child's dream tree...which works out well now that there are little hands helping me adorn our walls during the holiday season!<br />
<br />
So, you can imagine my excitement when I saw this bright and colorful garland over at<a href="http://www.auntpeaches.com/2013/12/pom-pom-garland.html" target="_blank"> Peach's Blog!</a><br />
The project was actually VERY simple, and completely do-able while cuddled up in a blanket and watching a good ole Christmas movie!<br />
<br />
Here's what you'll need:<br />
1. <b>Pom Poms</b> of your choice! This would look great with just the traditional Christmas colors, but you know I had to add some neon :)<br />
2. <b>Black and white paper straws</b>- cut into 1/3s, or smaller if you want!<br />
3. <b>Button Thread</b>- thicker and waxier than regular, all purpose thread.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkDdxAH4ZpIpOMEsVLsT2wDVrHLRZwbkqTyj51BIPTz9lCnE-DJMSitzjcSAj0IRw3Pp73iQqiPBh2LM1rlYe9Tbft44qlD70k7MIJLYjfnORhCXlh3Tp0QVUPwnrcYyuEYwhcUrSnY_nB/s640/blogger-image-1798860083.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkDdxAH4ZpIpOMEsVLsT2wDVrHLRZwbkqTyj51BIPTz9lCnE-DJMSitzjcSAj0IRw3Pp73iQqiPBh2LM1rlYe9Tbft44qlD70k7MIJLYjfnORhCXlh3Tp0QVUPwnrcYyuEYwhcUrSnY_nB/s640/blogger-image-1798860083.jpg" /></a></div>
My bags of pom poms came with 3 different sizes, so I actually separated the biggest ones into one bowl, and the medium ones into another! (I've saved the tiny ones for some garland for Doll Baby's tree!)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHP1lFDU4NAGwxSLPPFvnr8ITraRGhizVR2N76ZTYKBhsa6nA-yUXDGGG6MCJlX-sS_YoNjoU5oyGOWh_7ENEDQ3k9K8fAp58t8x7GpRqp5f78t6nGY8-k0kvk6ktKwt0l-5KBXyO_MfOF/s640/blogger-image--1915619615.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHP1lFDU4NAGwxSLPPFvnr8ITraRGhizVR2N76ZTYKBhsa6nA-yUXDGGG6MCJlX-sS_YoNjoU5oyGOWh_7ENEDQ3k9K8fAp58t8x7GpRqp5f78t6nGY8-k0kvk6ktKwt0l-5KBXyO_MfOF/s640/blogger-image--1915619615.jpg" /></a></div>
Cut the straws into thirds or fourths, depending on how long you want them to be between your pom poms. I cut them into thirds, and it worked out great with the number of pom poms.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyvp8s8nSwsZjp_aTaqCp6p9r_o_nKcac4hOJPxupLRgxIKnQmB8pRzz7t4mbRiKLsTjNvpyfG4YbBTOGF04IQZHPr3pfS2vrbJbrF32eqzp3EuR1ZcFgdjT24MEFEtK3xErtYXc8HnImz/s640/blogger-image-1037576368.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyvp8s8nSwsZjp_aTaqCp6p9r_o_nKcac4hOJPxupLRgxIKnQmB8pRzz7t4mbRiKLsTjNvpyfG4YbBTOGF04IQZHPr3pfS2vrbJbrF32eqzp3EuR1ZcFgdjT24MEFEtK3xErtYXc8HnImz/s640/blogger-image-1037576368.jpg" /></a></div>
I began my strand by threading the needle, and tying a knot to keep it on the thread. I started the garland with a large pom pom to keep the ends in place. I didn't cut the thread or tie it off until the whole strand was done, so just keep scooting your poms and straws down as you go!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ4cbq8yr0cnu0ZDuIEqpLb-gcskkLKqVf8ep1PSggix2Phz9mwusuckXurIqGtwFIEJwu79LZakn-uGefYPX9v196Mj1D_INnSZaErgNxUOQ-9zh7L-MjcsAC913cY1HPob-QzQgvPc9m/s640/blogger-image-1871805375.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ4cbq8yr0cnu0ZDuIEqpLb-gcskkLKqVf8ep1PSggix2Phz9mwusuckXurIqGtwFIEJwu79LZakn-uGefYPX9v196Mj1D_INnSZaErgNxUOQ-9zh7L-MjcsAC913cY1HPob-QzQgvPc9m/s640/blogger-image-1871805375.jpg" /></a></div>
Alternate poms and straws until you have reached the length you want! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMLbJhLM4Ul_JGEmKYbpvgHrFFH4dV5_jKHZ0_TH-42ZRa8edqaWR9FwK4nEEVVo7JEhcBNS1vuSPm9LasromoCGnr0jCFt7MvrZ16IX5N8BssGoi1qyTjhlNLQuFJFHtA9Dvw7x4i49EO/s640/blogger-image--1861107058.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMLbJhLM4Ul_JGEmKYbpvgHrFFH4dV5_jKHZ0_TH-42ZRa8edqaWR9FwK4nEEVVo7JEhcBNS1vuSPm9LasromoCGnr0jCFt7MvrZ16IX5N8BssGoi1qyTjhlNLQuFJFHtA9Dvw7x4i49EO/s640/blogger-image--1861107058.jpg" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I made 2 strands with the supplies that I showed you, and it was long enough to perfectly drape my fireplace!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<br />Our Thankful Tree is becoming one of my favorite activities to do with the kids!!! This year I am finding as many "teachable moments" as possible to incorporate into this project!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtsnTk93GFaBblTYSme2HaWjI6qnoqv-4837jgSsiKb_F7hbymY6JfwMDyqRgHK2hvGegr38WP4ibKwlIekqspDaTXB0MyKH_Z2t7L-qOdLE698ZJh-fcvQs8OF9ubKrPZmRxwoem5E88_/s640/blogger-image--595344968.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtsnTk93GFaBblTYSme2HaWjI6qnoqv-4837jgSsiKb_F7hbymY6JfwMDyqRgHK2hvGegr38WP4ibKwlIekqspDaTXB0MyKH_Z2t7L-qOdLE698ZJh-fcvQs8OF9ubKrPZmRxwoem5E88_/s640/blogger-image--595344968.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
To make your own tree, you will need:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
1. brown packing paper (I got my roll from the Dollar Tree!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
2. brown paint, markers, or crayons</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
3. construction paper or leaf doilies (which i found at the Dollar Tree years ago, but can't find any more :/, so now we make our own leaves!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
First, tape your paper to the floor, and draw a tree on it! Don't worry about how you think it looks. ALL trees are different, and yours will be unique to your home! ...plus, it will eventually be covered in leaves :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Next, confine any smaller children to a chair so that they won't run through the paint and drag it all over the house :D Then, have your child(ren) paint/color their tree! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbk-zSR0al-UoDM27MZtLvYaU195TyJpAuoACoEWQNg9C0FIa2Z5h5Fj3odTqXf9-3DKQTQjQ44S3oozvOQYjrEvZz4ihx3Usgw1IgwA-MU_A1Vc6WjdBs3UHtuIvAcPdZ2G4S7d5W3wwg/s640/blogger-image--1565763478.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbk-zSR0al-UoDM27MZtLvYaU195TyJpAuoACoEWQNg9C0FIa2Z5h5Fj3odTqXf9-3DKQTQjQ44S3oozvOQYjrEvZz4ihx3Usgw1IgwA-MU_A1Vc6WjdBs3UHtuIvAcPdZ2G4S7d5W3wwg/s640/blogger-image--1565763478.jpg" /></a></div>
I think this may have been the first year that T-Man was actually excited to do this whole project :D<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhccHWxjjnvng9xwqVQsYUSOvTijgZM9fZ9RM0DVs5ImDDHgEwiuZHlvXoC1byccagvZ5_rkNH8PYzgtiqXGPJt-XKGZchGwkCPanL8qceWyDYG8YqeYLtlsgHL-yF_z_CemQUWIy0aVxj9/s640/blogger-image-863118091.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhccHWxjjnvng9xwqVQsYUSOvTijgZM9fZ9RM0DVs5ImDDHgEwiuZHlvXoC1byccagvZ5_rkNH8PYzgtiqXGPJt-XKGZchGwkCPanL8qceWyDYG8YqeYLtlsgHL-yF_z_CemQUWIy0aVxj9/s640/blogger-image-863118091.jpg" /></a></div>
It's ok if the paint or marker gets outside the lines of the tree because you'll be cutting it all out!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

I knew that we would be making our own leaves this year, so while T was at school, I let Livie paint! I had put her painting projects on hold for a bit because she was wanting to eat the paint more than putting it on the paper (*sigh). Thankfully, this time, she loved dipping her brush in the water, and then the paint!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

I drew leaves onto the paper, and then let T cut them out! His teachers had recommended letting the kids cut at home, like cut anything and everything, so BAM! cutting we will do! :D He loved it! I think he's thrilled any time I let him use scissors!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgM8-PTChktgl3ozrvFvCNnctNRvIwmf9ud5lteB6In1X1vpgVqYUISBxsMFA7i_3zrlLyoGfO6C61ojtxTAxna7SVc5Vo0UbXlkeiTdMuDe7R_jEqw2G03SQXZv5aYcbO_gFFgkNSik_ld/s640/blogger-image--2099008467.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgM8-PTChktgl3ozrvFvCNnctNRvIwmf9ud5lteB6In1X1vpgVqYUISBxsMFA7i_3zrlLyoGfO6C61ojtxTAxna7SVc5Vo0UbXlkeiTdMuDe7R_jEqw2G03SQXZv5aYcbO_gFFgkNSik_ld/s640/blogger-image--2099008467.jpg" /></a></div>
He was really into doing each step of this on his own, by himself, and then presenting me with the completed project at the end with a flourish and celebration! ...I have no idea where he gets that from ;)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2JuN0QJY6V_VkS9xioSukaygVa70gZnL7539QoUmxexKAh-RAxfTXozA7a-vjHT2cVwQvNEslKNgpcH4siqXKD90vIrAWf4zI5sEPsWjJ2sYeD_7wqoqRfkZvCPq5B_YllbFbov3m5YjN/s640/blogger-image--2057387203.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2JuN0QJY6V_VkS9xioSukaygVa70gZnL7539QoUmxexKAh-RAxfTXozA7a-vjHT2cVwQvNEslKNgpcH4siqXKD90vIrAWf4zI5sEPsWjJ2sYeD_7wqoqRfkZvCPq5B_YllbFbov3m5YjN/s640/blogger-image--2057387203.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Next, we began talking about what it meant to be thankful. This has continued to be a difficult subject to convey to tiny people, but T is doing much better with this concept. We talked about things that we are glad that God has given us, things that we are happy we have, people who we love, and so one. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
So, I asked him what he was thankful for, to which he responded,<br />"going bowling!"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
:D</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
It's working, right?! ;)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
So, we continued.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
He listed more, and then wanted to write them all on his leaves!!! (More school practicing!!!!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5PkGT7_yR4n0qEIYYF6py4kIgERtWvyA4Hux3rpzc8K-5iu-r8DKFPg3FbSEpxdXfiVi5S1eX61vlBs1SghFSVmbQ1J8kaL4jFdQf9skXfGVYyTcToGTqsuCYcc_q1IiDDC9lxU3URKfk/s640/blogger-image--534297006.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5PkGT7_yR4n0qEIYYF6py4kIgERtWvyA4Hux3rpzc8K-5iu-r8DKFPg3FbSEpxdXfiVi5S1eX61vlBs1SghFSVmbQ1J8kaL4jFdQf9skXfGVYyTcToGTqsuCYcc_q1IiDDC9lxU3URKfk/s640/blogger-image--534297006.jpg" /></a></div>
I watched in awe as we spelled the words together, and he wrote the letters all by himself! Yes, some were backwards, and some were not made perfectly, but he was practicing, and improving, and I love it!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdNylA-oWHA_A1YZOD6kzFAykCq0t4X_K4RKNQEJFqGBkEVFkCyw0l8S_axTZbuazXoh2LDwEBY-nxFAGGTSgyfAkGytA3zdVTYfHwkMJbMDcW5I354c-dWCfsd3oULP3Abh-lbQVaBs1g/s640/blogger-image-695103333.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdNylA-oWHA_A1YZOD6kzFAykCq0t4X_K4RKNQEJFqGBkEVFkCyw0l8S_axTZbuazXoh2LDwEBY-nxFAGGTSgyfAkGytA3zdVTYfHwkMJbMDcW5I354c-dWCfsd3oULP3Abh-lbQVaBs1g/s640/blogger-image-695103333.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Next, tape the tree to the wall! (Please pardon the horrible pictures! We recently rearranged the toy room and moved our tree spot next to the window :/ Great to look at, not great to take pictures of!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

Remember that other child being restrained and throwing every Cheerio available on the floor?! There she is! She's as thrilled as T, because although she wasn't physically involved, she watched and celebrated, and totally thinks she made the whole thing! :D Man, I love that girl!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhY_HUMNrZJK7J9hrZW1-KBt2dkwqFtXzrDHND11IJtN109eHEIWGV24NfCOSrP_sZGke7CJAxQhj4W4Ng0yl-_3nm2lRw2ClsfzYL2_tbaEKiCZb-CkwLW9B50TzPl4cs7dMC53kyLK0w3/s640/blogger-image-1242221829.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhY_HUMNrZJK7J9hrZW1-KBt2dkwqFtXzrDHND11IJtN109eHEIWGV24NfCOSrP_sZGke7CJAxQhj4W4Ng0yl-_3nm2lRw2ClsfzYL2_tbaEKiCZb-CkwLW9B50TzPl4cs7dMC53kyLK0w3/s640/blogger-image-1242221829.jpg" /></a></div>
And, there you have it! A Thankful Tree in a morning! :D 1 project, many steps, covering many learning concepts! :D We will continue to talk about thankfulness and hanging leaves on our tree daily until it is covered with colorful blessings!</div>

As we are springing into summer, my mind is exploding with creativity, and my hands can barely keep up!!! So, in between trips to the pool, library, and friend's houses, I've been wearing out my studio! It hasn't seen so much of me in a long time!!!<br />
<br />
For starters, T-Man and I played around with watercolors in a new way! He had so much fun blowing through the straw and watching the colors spray everywhere!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjat36CEvcPTbpsnwkOVBfqaWVZKn3btwTiaT9f3fO-fVJCe9SaIm2E82PfR3nJoK7_-ZjfPAtq12zVEHGreWvhqPqz_r1vrPJXAfE8rzSEp_jycj-3QcCww-CagMfzK_McXhsVublKS6YN/s640/blogger-image-9354778.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjat36CEvcPTbpsnwkOVBfqaWVZKn3btwTiaT9f3fO-fVJCe9SaIm2E82PfR3nJoK7_-ZjfPAtq12zVEHGreWvhqPqz_r1vrPJXAfE8rzSEp_jycj-3QcCww-CagMfzK_McXhsVublKS6YN/s640/blogger-image-9354778.jpg" /></a></div>
I have been experimenting/obsession ;) with texture up in the studio! I love to not only see the vibrant colors of the paint, but I love that these pieces make you want to TOUCH them!!! Oh, how I love the rough edges, but the softness of the drips and dribbles!!!</div>

I guess I've been a bit busy since my last post! LOL!!! After mailing out all of my post cards from the Swap, I received 10 gorgeous post cards in return! Oh, how fun it was to actually receive FUN mail every day!!! It was so exciting to WANT to go get the mail! :)<br />
<br />
Ok, onto my tiny princess!!!<br />
My niece, Story, just celebrated her 2nd birthday with a Princess and Knights party! I had been dying to pop open one of the new patterns that I just got at Hobby Lobby's $1 sale, and one of them was a Disney Fairy dress!<br />
<br />
Oh, how I envisioned #dollbaby in a fluffy pink dress...made by me!...you know, something like this:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzIiDNI0EvG4STdKUeXX5zUDp-n3n3G648lU58wdYmoS4oMleq93t2GeQhnNizC4VtYsyS4K7z2NSH5pWTVVGjnjN2aAglWNF14Uc_M5uvRP2BzS7ukspRskfQBWtmUXw0MgUQY0PzUdUn/s640/blogger-image--1002824896.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzIiDNI0EvG4STdKUeXX5zUDp-n3n3G648lU58wdYmoS4oMleq93t2GeQhnNizC4VtYsyS4K7z2NSH5pWTVVGjnjN2aAglWNF14Uc_M5uvRP2BzS7ukspRskfQBWtmUXw0MgUQY0PzUdUn/s640/blogger-image--1002824896.jpg" /></a></div>
EEEEEEEEKKKK! I still can hardly believe that I actually made this thing! The bodice was made with pink satins and a lining, with some trim on the front. The petals were made from organza...the hardest material EVER to sew!...I think...I really haven't tried ALL the fabrics, but you know, when you can't sew a straight line on a fabric, it can be dumped in the "hard to sew" pile :) Anyways, finally, the lower skirt was made with 6 yards of tulle and a lining to keep it soft on her legs.</div>

I love the length on it, which keeps her from tripping, and I added velcro in the back to make it easier for me to get her in and out of it.</div>

I joined iHanna's Post Card Swap with my mom as a fun way to make some art, and get some really cool mail! :)<br />
You may remember that I <a href="http://thegirlintheblueglasses.blogspot.com/2013/11/postcards.html" target="_blank">began these cards</a> back at her last swap. I was whipped these suckers out with a strong creative flow, and then realized that I had missed the sign up deadline! LOL!!!<br />
So, "Kel!" :)<br />
So, anyways, Mom and I were ready this time when the project opened back up!!! I made 10 postcards, and sent 7 of them across the country, and 3 to Australia, Canada, and the UK!!! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLUQclz6NUd65t-YyPeJiFmAhdmJMh7gADxaP4jQVY9qd0QRyei7JKpEL3jiPQxSX4sGww949zcZuzaeTDOupnc_X_TES_8qqfohzAU_IfIIZz6VnaDCZM1HY457eyTgg0uhsJih53B3fw/s640/blogger-image-8553852.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLUQclz6NUd65t-YyPeJiFmAhdmJMh7gADxaP4jQVY9qd0QRyei7JKpEL3jiPQxSX4sGww949zcZuzaeTDOupnc_X_TES_8qqfohzAU_IfIIZz6VnaDCZM1HY457eyTgg0uhsJih53B3fw/s640/blogger-image-8553852.jpg" /></a></div>
I absolutely loved the stitching that I did on the cards, and couldn't bare to cover it up on the back side because it looked so cool...but also made it SUPER hard to write on them!!! So, if you receive on of my cards, don't think I'm weird, just realize it's part of the art :D</div>

A few of the ladies who I mailed cards to ALSO share my love for Washi tapes! So, it seemed an appropriate decoration for the cards! I ended up putting them in envelopes because I was afraid that the thread might cause the paper to be destroyed as it went through the system! </div>

I will be sure to post pictures of the cards I receive! I just can't wait to get that beautiful mail!!!</div>

I am always looking for ways to teach Tucker how to think of others, share kindness, and give of himself to help someone else. I usually take advantage of holidays as great times to make things to give to teachers, friends, and family...if I'm on my game...which I was not for Valentines Day or St. Patrick's Day. :/<br />
<br />
Anywho! This morning I decided that we should make Easter cards for his Bible Study teachers, and little treats for his classmates to help celebrate the most exciting news of all!!! JESUS IS ALIVE!!! HE IS RISEN!!!<br />
<br />
We have been talking about how Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and 3 days later arose from the grave and is now in Heaven with God!!! I am trying to reinforce those truths in as many ways as possible, so he has been sharing the Good News with those around him, and now through this craft!!!<br />
<br />
So, onto the project! It really is VERY simple to make!!! <br />
<br />
1. I folded a piece of card stock into 3rds, and and then cut it in half to make 2 small cards.</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm7yhEDmY7d90tcmxxl8TejBeCcvgDXGg9qm6wUY_XQaE4ZgSYp1eE3x_pqfXIlx8Ga5QnauP66XLAc9hUlqPfK3qL7lqlgQGy6Gr8pHqWFQkPdNvniHNcDcyWtGOrMH3RbJawDIfFseUN/s640/blogger-image-1362494164.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm7yhEDmY7d90tcmxxl8TejBeCcvgDXGg9qm6wUY_XQaE4ZgSYp1eE3x_pqfXIlx8Ga5QnauP66XLAc9hUlqPfK3qL7lqlgQGy6Gr8pHqWFQkPdNvniHNcDcyWtGOrMH3RbJawDIfFseUN/s1600/blogger-image-1362494164.jpg" /></a></div>
2. I drew an egg shape on the middle piece of the tri-fold, and then cut it out. </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjI0DjOJLDzlVIBV_V517SfRYlNg45w0yiNLkl1xkOLT7xBZXFubt3ILuBSRdlX3a3ckwj7rZh9GYbvvk7Fs1fvWZ-2q3WhSCRX99LyNu6pgSIv_yoLCgqR07TqtZv6Mk2Xklmcr2THMdT/s640/blogger-image--1489518213.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjI0DjOJLDzlVIBV_V517SfRYlNg45w0yiNLkl1xkOLT7xBZXFubt3ILuBSRdlX3a3ckwj7rZh9GYbvvk7Fs1fvWZ-2q3WhSCRX99LyNu6pgSIv_yoLCgqR07TqtZv6Mk2Xklmcr2THMdT/s1600/blogger-image--1489518213.jpg" /></a></div>
3. Next, I laid out all of my washi tapes (which is quite a bit!!!), and let Tucker choose which ones he wanted to use!!! He laid the pieces of tape on the page to the left of the egg cut out. I told him he could put them whichever direction he wanted, and however he wanted!!!</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2RXmxwGhWcrNCL7Gyo17x0QgpDnNo6gKegBSad4EKXdBvIi2SBqmNwQYDMWTNsQ-HzyMwywV5Bbn4uiKjo3ZeXVYllei8UdenSCY2QCBXgQd6Oh8HFkfdpjyAF1VJqDGxXs6dxr_qsREd/s640/blogger-image--346065062.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2RXmxwGhWcrNCL7Gyo17x0QgpDnNo6gKegBSad4EKXdBvIi2SBqmNwQYDMWTNsQ-HzyMwywV5Bbn4uiKjo3ZeXVYllei8UdenSCY2QCBXgQd6Oh8HFkfdpjyAF1VJqDGxXs6dxr_qsREd/s1600/blogger-image--346065062.jpg" /></a></div>
It's ok if the pieces overlap, it just adds to the design!!!</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXcRHvcrsnp4TfXlyokTqupSbzgJr2BxvYtjSVR6M_k9XyoMfozCHhaew0PMDIyyUrpv9A6SgS-sUI3Q0LGNkGAoL2arDmUwToGfUwS-yaC7FbRDLXQA5Db5swcGQ_VK9p__EARC1rsDiT/s640/blogger-image--1874107892.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXcRHvcrsnp4TfXlyokTqupSbzgJr2BxvYtjSVR6M_k9XyoMfozCHhaew0PMDIyyUrpv9A6SgS-sUI3Q0LGNkGAoL2arDmUwToGfUwS-yaC7FbRDLXQA5Db5swcGQ_VK9p__EARC1rsDiT/s1600/blogger-image--1874107892.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
4. When he was all done with the 3 cards, I applied glue with a glue stick around the egg cut out, and then folded the left flap over. (Turn over to see your cool egg design through the front!!!) To ensure that it would stick, I added a piece of tape to the middle of the card, too!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I just love the excitement of this verse!!! It really captures the joy that the women must have felt when they opened the tomb and saw that Jesus was not there!!! <b>"He is not here; He has risen, just as he said!" Matthew 28:6 </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitIo_FTf6WBuVZ6MejRFMNpwV-_o9dQkuvRU5T1-oxYemxH-scRgLhkGAibFr6k2UsLh8-LsIsuZMJY1SZOXNLvXrX2XWXxSDM8J7ZxClHFTkIhDRXII5a7cXeMMXy4AOUssYCy5qYCq__/s640/blogger-image-1058998409.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitIo_FTf6WBuVZ6MejRFMNpwV-_o9dQkuvRU5T1-oxYemxH-scRgLhkGAibFr6k2UsLh8-LsIsuZMJY1SZOXNLvXrX2XWXxSDM8J7ZxClHFTkIhDRXII5a7cXeMMXy4AOUssYCy5qYCq__/s1600/blogger-image-1058998409.jpg" /></a></div>
5. I added a yellow outline around the egg to make it stand out, but you can decorate it however you like!!! Tucker also signed his name inside each card, since we have been practicing writing his name. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4WY0ylzJFbZIupG_NFxs4wsc9UspClXdalA4-H234bbvG0JSjqQ6mdiYzUFwJ_gG1QZX-4AcITnpU2RHUBUbSGiglWic0O_yxRDHbgfbiGevDx_W1dOLnq3VASna512ZxXWKAbQhXUk0b/s640/blogger-image--982658.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4WY0ylzJFbZIupG_NFxs4wsc9UspClXdalA4-H234bbvG0JSjqQ6mdiYzUFwJ_gG1QZX-4AcITnpU2RHUBUbSGiglWic0O_yxRDHbgfbiGevDx_W1dOLnq3VASna512ZxXWKAbQhXUk0b/s1600/blogger-image--982658.jpg" /></a></div>
Enjoy! And, Happy Easter! :D</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2qlE3t7NhwUxdaYsvsRAZmyk-WqYKoiOYOFcC7Y0YcMdOQeks8rb1_TrMsDjLCDXp61Ji5ksW824NyJ5AQZI1j4M7w8EmyS-jGi5jdpZOxrVsVCSeyhlWlgVpEj87siEHL4slUfBLGJ31/s640/blogger-image--1267330921.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2qlE3t7NhwUxdaYsvsRAZmyk-WqYKoiOYOFcC7Y0YcMdOQeks8rb1_TrMsDjLCDXp61Ji5ksW824NyJ5AQZI1j4M7w8EmyS-jGi5jdpZOxrVsVCSeyhlWlgVpEj87siEHL4slUfBLGJ31/s640/blogger-image--1267330921.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Painting with your kids can be SO much fun!...if you know what you're doing, so your house doesn't become a toddler museum :) I LOVE painting with the kids, but realize that a lot of my friends struggle with this for a few reasons. Soooooo, I wanted to share some tips to help you be SUCCESSFUL with your kid's art!!!</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbpLB4qcTWkcf2NVjuQlwD0t9apYVn8mAIvtqssTdJRagRa5OT5pz_mT8vc41sg_GgNmoq56p_IFIsZZ8bT_FEF7pRjGJ2et1BxhKQ7mA53ryUxvf7VmrFGvCMpHkQQ4ZLSKVM8PBXKrIU/s640/blogger-image--59160126.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbpLB4qcTWkcf2NVjuQlwD0t9apYVn8mAIvtqssTdJRagRa5OT5pz_mT8vc41sg_GgNmoq56p_IFIsZZ8bT_FEF7pRjGJ2et1BxhKQ7mA53ryUxvf7VmrFGvCMpHkQQ4ZLSKVM8PBXKrIU/s640/blogger-image--59160126.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1. <u><b>BE PREPARED</b>!!!</u> No matter what project you are doing (painting, play dough, stickers...), prepare your space, supplies, and clean up tools before you introduce the project to your kids.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Cover your surface with newspaper, a cheap vinyl tablecloth, or some old rags. Lay out your supplies, keeping the actually messy part (paint, dough...) out of reach until YOU'RE ready to hand it to your child! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
2. <b><u>Only Give a Few Options</u></b>. Now that T-Man is older, I ask him what color he wants to use...he will usually choose orange. :) So, instead of giving him ALL of the colors to paint with-which will turn BROWN very quickly :/, I give him <b>orange</b> (the color he chose), <b>red</b> (a darker color next to orange on the color wheel), and <b>yellow</b> (a lighter color next to orange on the color wheel).</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I place his color choices on a paper plate, plastic plate, or any other "pallet" that you have available. This way, he is not mixing all of the beautiful colors IN the containers that they came in, and I'm only giving him a small amount.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Use the Color Wheel below to help you choose your colors!!! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd8lg8yWCSpmZ20jH9o2ye67n0LUDGxhs5ikoRXw-V6rkjDWdWWDknCh1J0I9nBh_MScGTu4mN83nABcqVfrPN_tBifpZ1aainPmKlCHsqTytX3e7ad_wLOo1TzU9muLC8ha_VquuWSaxj/s1600/HGTV_Color-Wheel-Full_s4x3_lg.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd8lg8yWCSpmZ20jH9o2ye67n0LUDGxhs5ikoRXw-V6rkjDWdWWDknCh1J0I9nBh_MScGTu4mN83nABcqVfrPN_tBifpZ1aainPmKlCHsqTytX3e7ad_wLOo1TzU9muLC8ha_VquuWSaxj/s1600/HGTV_Color-Wheel-Full_s4x3_lg.jpg" height="476" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Livie painted for the first time yesterday!!! I chose pink for her :) So, she was given <b>pink</b>, <b>red</b>, and <b>white</b>.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjt9aDnvRlBeSN9bh_tG9SANwhQ0x8-tSqrd9LDffDq26DmHm2Ger4EtoZM-V99_-ZZ0F6s5LedZGC4d8iLlkVK9O_9qJfk4fHUcryMrnyo04TxoG__Tzw-_CSq28UHx2Jgq-_ExA3JIQSC/s640/blogger-image--671221833.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjt9aDnvRlBeSN9bh_tG9SANwhQ0x8-tSqrd9LDffDq26DmHm2Ger4EtoZM-V99_-ZZ0F6s5LedZGC4d8iLlkVK9O_9qJfk4fHUcryMrnyo04TxoG__Tzw-_CSq28UHx2Jgq-_ExA3JIQSC/s640/blogger-image--671221833.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
3. <u><b>Give Suggestions</b></u>. To maximize your child's creative freedom, merely give <b>suggestions</b> and <b>encouragement</b> while they're painting. I hand them the paintbrush, and tell them to get some paint on their brush. If they get all 3 colors, great!!! They will blend well together, and give beautiful contrast as they paint! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
As they paint, I will <b>turn</b> the canvas/paper as they go to make sure they can reach all parts of the painting. This also helps keep all areas interesting :) </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Remind them to get more paint on their brush as they go. You can also <b>point</b> to an area of the canvas that doesn't have paint on it yet to move them from the same spot that they've been painting in.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Leave some white</b> showing on the canvas!!! It acts like an additional "color!"</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
4. <u><b>Work in Stages</b></u>. Once you've completed your first layer, <b>let it dry completely</b>!!!! One of the most common approaches with kids is to let them use all of the colors at once. Well, mixing all of the colors together makes brown...which is probably not the look you were going for :)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8S7O7TGCgsYSMR7ZAze7wqpRaO0l46FWxH-hOqGlHKW8brsRud3kfftTNzH_pmiDIQY9ecOt3-4x1B_6fgg3gq968LFfSHjN3hGNaxPt_fScLjofwdB-bfu9mQk0ch1-SceUXYMbxOYdw/s1600/liv.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8S7O7TGCgsYSMR7ZAze7wqpRaO0l46FWxH-hOqGlHKW8brsRud3kfftTNzH_pmiDIQY9ecOt3-4x1B_6fgg3gq968LFfSHjN3hGNaxPt_fScLjofwdB-bfu9mQk0ch1-SceUXYMbxOYdw/s1600/liv.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Once Livie's pink layer was dry, I gave her <b>yellow</b>, <b>orange</b> and <b>white</b> on her pallet. Yellow is very transparent (see through), so layering it on the pink made it's own orange anyways, but again, the 3 colors together made a more beautiful color!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The other benefit to working in stages is that you're playing into your child's short attention span. You should know now that each step that I've explained here will take minutes. Yes, <b>MINUTES</b>!!! You will spend more time preparing and planning than watching your child actually paint!!! LOL!!! But, trust me, it's worth it :)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
You can add as many layers of color as your heart desires, or stop when your desired "look" is completed! Either way, this will be a memorable activity for you to share with your kids, AND a way to creative beautiful abstract art for your home! </div>

The other day I made an extremely exciting $5 purchase at Hobby Lobby. Using 2 40% off coupons, I bought Crayola watercolors (in the kid's section), and a square pad of watercolor paper (140 lbs. in the sketchbook section). <br />
<br />
Seriously $5 for a ton of fun...I mean, look at those COLORS!!! :D</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnxd-54GNMyDRGtoKwsusNdOzqz1dAj0lCEOUNVzhY6VqjJGrOhzV6J11wIDyB4NKKTCTscyPWHfrRBkS0odopqJ4GFsVqte0e7IlPjekfL9D2Tf7rQvrsutTVtGK6zyeeI1-dzZm-BnMy/s640/blogger-image--1108790553.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnxd-54GNMyDRGtoKwsusNdOzqz1dAj0lCEOUNVzhY6VqjJGrOhzV6J11wIDyB4NKKTCTscyPWHfrRBkS0odopqJ4GFsVqte0e7IlPjekfL9D2Tf7rQvrsutTVtGK6zyeeI1-dzZm-BnMy/s640/blogger-image--1108790553.jpg" /></a></div>
I was super excited to try out these gorgeous pigments, but I was having a bit of a brain fart in the creative department...probably being pushed aside by the loads of laundry filling most areas of my living space :)...so I asked T to draw me some pictures on my new paper!!!<br />
<br />Of course, he was reluctant at first, "I don't know how!" "No thank you."... and then I showered him with kisses and lovies and begged him, and he obliged...and I gave him gum :D<br />
<br />
Anyways, before nap time, I was able to get 2 T-Man sketches. To be quite honest, I really love the idea of collaborative art with the kids. T and I painted a large canvas for our bedroom this weekend, and I just love it. Seriously, toddlers create the most beautiful abstract art at this age!!!<br />
<br />
So, after filling in some of his lines that didn't pick up well on the textured paper, I went to work with my new paints!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3uwdQGPeAVu3nB4VIJg48cN1GXOda-hnY8KMT1NmUuyGYCIFPPd8hXmmMupZF46t1qgD6mzjeL3EaZs92y5rrkY-kHNY8VcHEb_il8JXVZRhsbZ5HTFLevwJ8fr3QZoiYl6YM2GdYS-ZF/s640/blogger-image--642570053.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3uwdQGPeAVu3nB4VIJg48cN1GXOda-hnY8KMT1NmUuyGYCIFPPd8hXmmMupZF46t1qgD6mzjeL3EaZs92y5rrkY-kHNY8VcHEb_il8JXVZRhsbZ5HTFLevwJ8fr3QZoiYl6YM2GdYS-ZF/s640/blogger-image--642570053.jpg" /></a></div>
The Crayola's are so creamy and thick, but dry in VIBRANT, beautiful colors!!! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEqTT4OSdYAgjtZVUwBTY6Pd3P5fNlYy2tuZU9wpjluBZG37V9bm8gUQ3ZCVZroTm0BwljpdrHOCDfZGcr0KeMphTnNRLqTuUveQDFiqRRA2AvRV8ygwn5iAR1ZmnWunQpuf9x-vcXp3f7/s640/blogger-image-1987114949.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEqTT4OSdYAgjtZVUwBTY6Pd3P5fNlYy2tuZU9wpjluBZG37V9bm8gUQ3ZCVZroTm0BwljpdrHOCDfZGcr0KeMphTnNRLqTuUveQDFiqRRA2AvRV8ygwn5iAR1ZmnWunQpuf9x-vcXp3f7/s640/blogger-image-1987114949.jpg" /></a></div>
Once the paintings were dry, I went back over with my thin black sharpie again, thickening some of the lines, and adding the dot details. I think they may need a little more "doodling," but it's hard to do that when a 1 year old is literally pulling your shirt off while she's climbing all over you... #momproblems ;) Anyways, she's next once I can get her to keep the pen on the paper and out of her mouth :D<br />
<br />
And, just for fun, this was T's morning sketches on his chalk board. See! Beautiful abstracts!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

Anyways, I really feel passionately about knowing how to paint with your kids. This is SO SCARY for so many people- Trust me, I've talked to them.<br />
I don't want it to be hard, or scary, so I plan on making a series of videos to prepare you and give you the tools you'll need to help your children make beautiful works of art!!! So, stay tuned!!!</div>

Last night was the second painting evening for the wonderful teachers of Elwood Community Schools! We had several ladies from Tuesday's class come back and paint with me on Thursday!!!<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The painting that they chose was the Fall Trees. I think all of us were drooling over the gorgeous teal and orangy/yellow!</div>
